The Sinai Peninsula is the only part of Egypt
that everything belongs to Asia continent except Africa Egypt Sinai terqueza
earth, the scene of the battles of the kings of ancient Egypt. It is a
peninsula between the 2 and Aqaba gulfs Suez.500 km east of Cairo, total area
reaches 62,000 km, its population reaching 460,000 people. 75% of the
population belong to the livestock and all are Bedouins (nomads) their language
is Arabic but with a different dialect. The peninsula is 200 km from east to
west and 400 from north to south.

Since the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt,
Sinai has become a tourist destination due to its natural setting, rich coral
reefs, and biblical history. The most popular tourist destination in Sinai are
Mount Sinai (Jabal Musa) and the Monastery of Santa Catalina, which is
considered the world's oldest Christian monastery, and the beaches of Sharm el-Sheikh,
Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba. Most tourists come to Sharm el-Sheikh International
Airport, through Eilat, Israel and the Taba Border Crossing, by train or bus
from Cairo or by Ferry from Aqaba in Jordan.
Most of the Sinai Peninsula is divided among two
Egyptian governorates, or provinces, called Ganub Sina (South Sinai) and Shamal
Sina (North Sinai). Three other governorates cross the Suez Canal, crossing
into African Egypt. el-Sewais (Suez) is at the southern end of the Suez Canal,
el-Isma'ileyyah in the center, and Port Said in the north.
